May 2010 - During an evening of progressive drinking and dining, we stopped in at the new Pikeys Pub in Agoura Hills. The critic expected a dark, damp and musky Irish bar with beer signs on the wall... that was not the case.
This was an upscale establishment with a young clientele that wanted to party Irish style. Pikeys is the newest bar to grace the Eastern Ventura County area and every table was packed.
We hung out at the bar - both sitting and standing - while we drank our overpriced (sorry, we know that's what the market will bear) libations and took in the scenery.
The place was loud. There were 15 TV's in every direction, dart boards in special playing areas and some special VIP sections. There were kids playing video games too.
They had not grand opened yet and the service was a bit abrasive by the bartender, but hey - the critic will always give a place another chance. The drinks were yummy.
Summary: Did not try any food. Great drinks. Very loud, but lots of fun. People were having a great time. We highly recommend this bar. This is a Best Bet!
